Project Description:

In 2010 EMBL Australia was launched, with the goal of strengthening Australia’s global position in life sciences with a research model - focusing on nurturing early-career scientists and making the most of Australia’s scientific infrastructure.

EMBL Australia is sponsoring 10 of the best PhD students in Australia to train at the prestigious European Molecular Biology Laboratory. EMBL has 6 facilities EMBL Heidelberg or EMBL Hamburg (Germany), EMBL Grenoble (France), EMBL-EBI Hinxton (UK), EMBL Rome (Italy) or EMBL Barcelona (Spain).

Value and Tenure:

Grant value: You can apply for financial support of up to $2,000 for a short visit of up to six weeks during the period 1 July to 31 December 2018.

Other important information:

Funds can be used for any reasonable and relevant expense related to your attendance at EMBL.

This may include but is not restricted to:

  • Flights
  • Accommodation
  • Course fees or conference registration
  • Meals and general expenses

Students must complete this form and ensure a short letter of support is sent by their supervisor to student.admin@emblaustralia.org by 30 April 2018.
