Unit Information and Enrolment Patterns
All students commencing in Year 1 of the program must enrol into 8 units (80 credits points) consisting of the following:

1 x Research Frontiers Unit
6 x Advanced Disciplinary Units
8 = Total No. of Units
80 = Total No. of Credit Points
A Standard load for full time study is 4 units (40cp) per semester

Research Communication Unit
All students commencing in Year 1 of the program in 2020 will take a compulsory “Research Communications" unit. This unit aims to equip new research students with skills to communicate academic research effectively, and with a heightened appreciation of the relationship between research communications and disciplinary knowledge creation. Students will analyse, critique and practise academic communication conventions from different research genres in a variety of modes (written, oral and visual), across disciplines and for different audiences.
Research Frontiers Unit
All students commencing in Year 1 of the program in 2020 will take a compulsory “Research Frontiers" unit that is discipline specific.
Advanced Disciplinary Content
All students commencing in Year 1 of the program must select 6 units with advanced disciplinary content. Further details can be found in the 2020 Macquarie University Handbook.
