Growing partnerships, research translation and entrepreneurship

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) portfolio oversees the implementation of processes that advance and sustain relationships in the interests of the University and its partners.

By supporting research impact, translation and entrepreneurship, we provide strategic and operational leadership on all matters relating to:

  • major research initiatives
  • applied research
  • consultancy
  • innovation
  • translation
  • commercialisation
  • entrepreneurship
  • start-up company incubation
  • corporate partnerships.

The portfolio:

  • leads and manages the University’s efforts to foster, maintain and grow strategic partnerships and alliances with industry and government locally, nationally and internationally aligned to Macquarie’s strategic research, learning and teaching vision and objectives
  • leads and manages the University’s approach to research partnerships such as those required for large, complex proposals (CRCs, CoEs), contract research and consulting
  • leads and manages the University’s approach to research translation, commercialisation, entrepreneurship and start-up company incubation, facilitating application and impact
  • facilitates the University’s involvement in the Macquarie Park Innovation District
  • develops and runs training and capacity-building programs for University staff, students and affiliates in areas related to external partnerships, research translation, commercialisation, entrepreneurship and start-up company incubation.
