The Centre for Middle East and African Studies comprises researchers from a range of disciplines including Anthropology, History,Law, and Politics and International Relations. The aim of this group is to undertake research into key areas of contemporary Middle East and African modern history, society, politics and government. The Centre supports PhD research and attracts both domestic and international students whose research ranges from questions of contemporary identity formation in the Middle East to the political economy of political uprisings. The Centre will also publish an on-line journal beginning with the first edition in April 2012.
