You can help make a difference

Together, we can help dementia patients live with dignity, ease the burden on their families and work towards finding a cure.

It is responsible for one in 10 deaths and, shockingly, more than 1.7 million people care for someone with dementia.

Macquarie leads the way

Macquarie University is home to some of Australia’s leading medical researchers. Our centres include the:

Our experts are working to better understand dementia, develop new treatments and improve care for people living with these conditions.

My dear husband Kevin suffered with advanced dementia for 17 years. This devastating condition affected the last quarter of our life together. I support this research not just to find a cure. It’s also about finding treatments that alleviate symptoms, prolong lives and improve the quality of those lives – both the patients and their families too.

You can make a difference

Together we can transform knowledge into hope – and hope into healing. But we need your help.

With your support, we can fund urgent research into treatments for dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease as we work towards finding a cure. Every donation makes a real difference to the lives of those suffering with these diseases, fuelling:

  • faster translation of laboratory breakthroughs into clinical trials
  • patient-focused research with direct pathways to new treatments
  • training for Australia’s next leaders in dementia research
  • global collaboration at the cutting edge of neuroscience and biotech.

Our goal is to make ourselves redundant – and with your help we can get there. Because together we are stronger than dementia.
