Together we can give minds a future
Each year, hundreds of thousands of Australians and their families live with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s and motor neuron disease (MND).
There are currently no cures, just treatments to relieve symptoms. As our population ages, the number of Australians living with these diseases will increase dramatically – unless we can find a cure.
Macquarie leads the way
Together we can give minds a future. Our university is leading the way in neurodegenerative disease research and clinical care. Our research centres include the:
- Dementia Research Centre
- Motor Neuron Disease Research Centre
- Parkinson’s Disease Research Clinic
- Neurodegenerative Disease Biobank.
Their discoveries have already led to innovative treatments that improve and extend the lives of patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
You can make a difference
Together we can transform knowledge into hope – and hope into healing. But we need your help.
With your support, we can fund urgent research into treatments for Parkinson’s disease, dementia and MND as we work towards finding a cure. Every donation makes a real difference to the lives of those suffering with these diseases, fuelling:
- faster translation of laboratory breakthroughs into clinical trials
- patient-focused research with direct pathways to new treatments
- training for Australia’s next leaders in neurodegenerative disease research
- global collaboration at the cutting edge of neuroscience and biotech.
Our goal is to make ourselves redundant – and with your help we can get there. Because together we are stronger than neurodegenerative diseases.
