What is The Sienna Project?
The Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub is collaborating with the European Union SIENNA project. The SIENNA project is a European Commission-funded project in the Horizon 2020 programme with a budget of €4.0 million. It is carried by a consortium of thirteen organizations from the European Union and other parts of the world, and is coordinated by the University of Twente (Philip Brey). It is also supported by major stakeholder organisations such as UNESCO, Council of Europe, World Health Organization, IEEE and others.
The SIENNA project addresses ethical issues in three new and emerging technology areas: human genomics, human enhancement and human-machine interaction. The reports and policy briefs of SIENNA can be found at Policy briefs - SIENNA (sienna-project.eu). Of special interest is the SIENA brief on Enhancing EU legal frameworks for AI & robotics.
The project has been prepared for European Union (EU) institutions, particularly the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, Council of the European Union, European Data Protection Board, European Data Protection Supervisor, and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.
