Macquarie University's Hack Mac is back!

Learn about cyber security and test your hacking skills in the annual cyber security challenge at Macquarie University! This year's competition is on the 21st of October from 9am to 9pm. Register here: https://hackmac.xyz/

Macquarie University IT, in conjunction with the Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub, has designed and built hacking challenges for Macquarie University students. Working in teams of two, you'll compete with other teams to capture the 'flags' to earn points in this one-day event!
Hack Mac includes challenges for all skill levels. It’s an excellent event for learning the basics, but also trying your hand at some of the more complicated challenges. This event will connect you with other cyber-minded students and you’ll have a blast with real-life hacking in a range of challenges:
  • Capture the flag challenges (web and Linux hacking)
  • Open-source intelligence gathering
  • Ransomware recovery
  • Windows domain hacking
  • Hacking the University’s own internet-facing systems
Prizes (generously provided by the MQ IT department and the Optus Macquarie University Cyber Security Hub) will be awarded to participant categories (first year, second year etc.), as well as a major prize for the two members of the winning team. Prizes will include hardware such as:
  • MacBook AIR for each of the winning team
  • Curved 27" gaming screens
  • Wireless ear buds
  • Smart home cameras
  • Google Home devices
  • Raspberry Pi 4 start kits
When
9am - 9pm on Thursday 21 October
