The youngest enlister was Reg Bodimeade who falsified his age and was 16 years old . The oldest was Thomas Irwin Sr who also falsified his age and was actually 58 years old. Average age is 24 years.

42 of the 50 enlistments entered at the rank of private. This indicates that there were very few  with any prior military experience
