Faculty of Arts student Suna Ozcan embarked on a three week tour of EM Strasbourg in France as part of her Bachelor of International Studies with the degree of Bachelor of Laws’ short term exchange program.

The Bachelor of International Studies degree, which includes the option of specialising in one of 10 European and Asian languages, offers students an opportunity for in-depth experience in their language country so they can experience the language and culture first hand.

“Our days were jam-packed with exciting activities,” explains Suna about the group’s daily activities. “In the three weeks, I went on wine-tasting tours, castle tours, to cathedrals with guides, on boats around the city, , art museums, traditional Alsatian dinners and more.”

Recommending the exchange program Suna says, “What stood out most was definitely the learning experience. For three weeks, I was absolutely immersed in the French language with a wonderful professor at EM Strasbourg who worked tirelessly to improve our French.”

“I came back from Strasbourg completely confident of my French, I was satisfied and happy beyond measure. I definitely recommend it!” she adds.

Ranked amongst the top 100 language departments in the world, Macquarie's Department of International Studies offers one of the largest ranges of European and Asian languages in NSW. Languages can be studied as part of the Bachelor of International Studies, Bachelor of Arts, or the Bachelor of Global Business.
