Macquarie Business School Insider – October 2025
The second half of the year has been marked by energy, achievement and connection at Macquarie Business School.
Message from the Executive Dean
I'm proud to share that Macquarie Business School has been ranked number one in Australia for Career Impact in the Australian Financial Review's 2025 Best Business Schools list. This recognition reflects our commitment to preparing students for the future of work. From day one, students engage with real-world problems, industry projects, and future-focused learning that prepares them to lead in a rapidly changing business landscape.
We also celebrated excellence at the Dean's Excellence Awards, held at Sydney's Ivy Ballroom. More than 250 guests gathered to honour our high-achieving students under the theme Leading with Clarity and Confidence. Macquarie Business School alumna and keynote speaker and Melanie Silva, Managing Director and VP of Google ANZ, encouraged us to silence our inner critic and lead with purpose. Student speaker Ethan Kwok inspired us with reflections on curiosity, persistence and embracing challenge.
Another highlight was last week's 2025 Sydney Awards where I had the honour of delivering an address and celebrating the people who make Sydney one of the world's truly great cities. Warm congratulations to Sydneysider of the Year Robin Khuda – a powerful example of how education and the migrant experience can enrich our society, driving innovation and opportunity for all. Congratulations to all the outstanding winners and nominees whose contributions continue to shape our city's future.
