Message from the Executive Dean

The academic year is well under way, and I'm delighted to share the latest news from the Macquarie Business School.

It's been a wonderful start to the year for the University, which has soared to new heights in the latest QS World University Rankings – climbing 12 places to rank among the top 1.5 per cent of institutions worldwide. It's a result that reflects the ambition and collective effort of our staff and the growing impact of our research and teaching.
At the heart of everything we do is the success of our students. A recent analysis by economic consulting firm Mandala Partners has reinforced the strong employability outcomes of Macquarie Business School graduates. The results place Macquarie second nationally for the number of undergraduate business graduates employed by top-tier firms, including ASX 50 companies, major banks and financial institutions, within six months of graduation. It’s a powerful, independent signal of the demand for our students, the strength of our industry-relevant curriculum, and our close engagement with employers. We’ll share more results in the next edition of Insider.

Our commitment to employability also shapes how we teach. Following the strong response to our undergraduate offering, we've introduced a new Artificial Intelligence in Business and Innovation specialisation in our Master of Commerce to equip our students to lead organisational change, drive progress responsibly and build sustainable business models in an AI-driven world. Initiatives like our Lucy Mentoring program, which has now connected more than 1,000 students with industry mentors, also ensure our students are ready to make an impact.

There's much more to look forward to. From the 2026 Leadership Series (if you can’t attend in person, all events are recorded and published on our YouTube channel) to Open Day on Saturday 15 August (including a chance to rediscover the campus at Alumni Reconnect), it’s a season of celebrating the very best of our community. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
