Professor Vito Mollica currently serves as Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) at Macquarie Business School. His work bridges scholarly rigor and real-world relevance, positioning him as a prominent voice in financial market innovation and policy.

Professor Mollica’s research expertise spans market microstructure, financial technology, and real estate markets. He has published extensively on topics including high-frequency trading, information disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation, cryptocurrency, and real estate pricing. His research appears in leading journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, British Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, and ABACUS.

He co-leads Macquarie’s Transforming Energy Markets Research Centre, contributing to regulatory and social solutions for net-zero energy systems, and the FinTech and Banking Research Centre, which generates consumer-focused insights and tailored regulatory guidance to support stakeholders navigating an increasingly digital and regulated financial ecosystem.

Professor Mollica has worked with leading organisations in the financial services and property sectors, including the ASX, CoreLogic, Financial Services Council, AFMA, and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority. He has also served as a consultant and expert witness in legal proceedings.

His work has been supported by competitive research funding from the Australian Research Council (ARC), Cooperative Research Australia, and other bodies. He received the Australian Council for Graduate Research Award for Excellence in Promoting Industry Engagement in Graduate Research and was awarded a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship.
