Captain Austin Forrest married Jemima Pitt on 18 April 1810. He was killed by a fall from his horse on 24 December 1811.

Dutch governor and commandant at Galle, Ceylon. Surrendered the fortress and Dutch administration at Galle to Captain Lachlan Macquarie in February 1796.
