Saty. 1st. May !!!
Mrs. M. was taken very ill this morning – and continued so till Wedy. 5th. May, when she had a miscarriage; being the Sixth she has had at Home & in this Country since the Birth of our darling little Baby!!!

Sunday 9. May!
Mrs. M.'s complaint ceased this day and her health begins to improve. —

Friday 14th. May!
I this day Inspected the 73d. Regt., and had the Officers to dine with me at the Govt. House afterwards. It rained almost all day, and of course the weather was very unfavorable for our Review.

N.B. No Ladies dined with us on this day. —

Monday 17th. May!
Had two large Norfolk Pine Trees, presented to Mrs. M. by S. Lord Esqr., removed from that Gentleman's Garden, and planted at the Gate opposite to Macquarie Street. —

Tuesday 18th. May!
Had another large Norfolk Pine Tree, removed from the same Gentleman's Garden at Dobride (5½ miles from Sydney) to the lower Field in Govt. Domain, where it was this morning Planted with a large Ball of its own Native Earth. — This Tree is about feet high. [number omitted]

Tuesday 18th. — !
Set out at Noon this day for Parramatta (accompanied by Mrs. M. Mrs. Cowper & her Child) on an Excursion to the interior, including Windsor and all the Grazing Grounds & Stock-Yards at present occupied by the Govt. Cattle.

On Wedy. [19th. May]
I visited the Stock Yards Nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4, in old Cow Pastures, riding 48 miles this day.

On Thursday [20th. May]
Set out for Windsor, visiting on my way thither the Govt. Stock-Yards on the East Creek & Rooty Hill. —

On Friday 21st. May —
Visited Wilberforce and marked out the Scite [sic] of the new intended School-House in that Township. —

On Saturday 22d.
Visited Richmond School House.

On Monday 24th.
Returned to Parramatta Visiting the Govt. Stock & Yard at Seven Hills on my way.

On Tuesdy. 25th.
Went to Town of Liverpool, marked out the Scite [sic] of a New Store & Granary there and dined wt. Mr. Moore J.P. at his new House.

On Friday 28th. May —
Returned to Sydney at Noon, no Vessels having arrived there during my absence! L.M.
