Discontinued this day wearing mourning for our dear departed Mother, having worn them above six months! —

Friday 10th. April !
Lieut. Primrose of the 73d. Regt. (Nephew of Lt. Col: OConnell) was this day convicted of having stolen a £6. Store Receipt from Margaret Murrell, the kept mistress of Mr. Robt. Campbell; and his Brother officers in consequence insisted on his quitting the Regt. which he has accordingly done ! —

Wedy. 22d. April 1812 !!! —
I had a long conversation this day with Doctor Redfern respecting my dearest Elizabeth's present state of Health; the particulars of which I have fully explained to him, and he appears to be inclined to think that she is Pregnant; from the circumstance of her not having a return of her usual Femenine [sic] Complaint for six weeks past –; it being this day Six weeks she was last attacked with it – and being now Five weeks and two days in perfect good health and free from a return of the Complaint alluded to. — At the same time Dr. Redfern seems to think that it is as yet impossible to pronounce decidedly whether Mrs. M. is Pregnant or not – but that a Fortnight or at farthest three weeks more must remove every doubt on the subject. — He recommends that she should take no Exercise in the Carriage or on Horseback, while she is in her present state, and keep herself as quiet – and as free from any fear or alarm as possible ! —

Tuesdy. 28. [A]pl. 1812 —
I paid a Visit to Parramatta early this morning (leaving Mrs. M. at Home) accompanied by Mr. Meehan & Lt. Jo. Maclaine in the Carriage, going thither before Breakfast and returning to Dinner. —
