Tuesday 4th. June 1811 !
This being the anniversary of our beloved & gracious Sovereign (who this day Completes his 73d. Year) the same was observed as a Holiday thoughout this Colony, and the usual Salutes and Demonstrations of Joy were observed. — Entertained the whole of the Civil & Military Officers and principal Gentlemen of the Colony at Dinner, amounting in all to 72 Persons; - Mrs. OConnell, Mrs. Bent, Mrs. Palmer Senr. & Mrs. Cowper being the only Ladies who dined with us besides Mrs. M. — The Company sat down to Dinner at a quarter past 5. P.M. and broke up at a qr. before 10,O'Clock; having for the first time dined in the new Dining Room or Great Saloon. —

Wedy. 5th. June !
This day the Ship Cumberland (Whaler) Capt. Swain anchored in the Harbour from England; having sailed from Portsmouth on the 31st. of Jany. in company with another Ship named the Cato bound for this Country. — I recd. no Public Dispatches from His Majesty's Ministers - and only two Private Letters - namely one from Genl. Sir Robt. Abercromby - and the other from Genl. James Balfour - two old and much esteemed Friends. — All was quiet in England, and sanguine hopes were still entertained of His Majesty's recovery from the mental illness with which he had been for some time past afflicted, and which was greatly increased by the death of his beloved Daughter the Princess Amelia who had died on the 2d. of November 1810 !

Sunday 16th. June !
The Ship Arabella Capt. Leigh sailed from Sydney Cove for Bengal. — By this opportunity Lieut. Lord of the Royal Marines went Passenger to return to England on Leave of absence by way of India. — I wrote an official Letter by him to the Earl of Liverpool Secry. of State (dated 12th. Inst.) respecting his (Lt. Lord's) own and the late Lt. Govr. Collins's Publick [sic] Accounts during their respective Commands at the Derwent.

N.B. Lt. Lord returned *** Sydney on 19th. June.
