Memorandums!

Thursday 22d. Decr. 1808 —
Recd. Private orders to hold the 73d. Regt. in readiness to march to Edinr. Castle on the shortest notice preparatory to Embarking at Leith for Portsmouth; — and on same Evening a Letter fr. A. Campbell Esqr. in London informing that the 73d. was going to Botany Bay &c. &c. —

Fridy. 23d. —
The Route for marching the Regt. to Edinr. Castle in two Divisions, was received. —

Tuesdy. 27th.
The Right Wing under Majr. OConnell marched from Perth. —

Wedy. 28th.
The Left Wing under Capt. Gordon marched from Perth. —

Thursdy. 29th.
I set out myself wt. Mrs. M. from Perth at 7. in the morning – and arrived at ½ past 4. in the Evening at Edinr., taking up our Lodgings at No. 3. S. Hanover Street. The 1st. Divn. of the Regt. marched into the Castle about 4 OClock the same afternoon of my arrival.

Fridy. 30th.
The 2nd. Divn. arrived at 3 OClock near Town and I met and marched it into the Castle.
