Friday! — The Four Bombay and China Ships arrived here this day from England, which they left on the 4th. of March last. — I had the happiness of receiving Letters by this opportunity from my dearest Elizabeth and other friends at Home - all of whom are well in Health - thank God! — I also received this day an official Letter from the Honble. Lt. Colonel Lake Adjt. Genl. to the Kings Troops in India, informing me that His Excellency the Comr. in Chief Lord Lake had lately been kindly pleased to comply with my request in behalf of my Nephew Mr. Martin Wilkins - whom His Lordship has been pleased to appoint to an Ensigncy in the 86th. Regt. - his Commission bearing the date the 7th. of January last. —
