Augt. 19.
Tuesday! — The St. Vincent and Fame Indiamen arrived here from England – which they left on the 31st. of March last. — I had not the happiness of hearing from my beloved Elizabeth by this opportunity; but I have received a Letter from my Brother Charles dated the 24th. of February from Mull, where he then was on a Visit, and which gives me most pleasing accounts of himself and the rest of my Family and friends at Home.

Augt. 31.
Sunday! — I this day received by way of Madras a Letter of a very old date (–5th. June 1805–) from my dearest Miss Campbell – forwarded by her friend Doctr. Jas. Macdonald – a bad Post! —
