Friday. — Colonel Close the British Resident at Poona, arrived here this day from that Place. —

Decr. 7.
Friday. — The Daedalus Frigate Commanded by Capt. Waller sailed this day for England, and I wrote to several of my Friends at Home by her. —

Decr. 25.
Saturday! — The Governor entertained a large Party at Parell, and we spent a very merry Christmas ! —

Decr. 30.
Thursday! — I visited for the last time the sacred and venerated Tomb of my late angelic and beloved Wife, and paid her adored memory the tribute of my Tears: – Peace be to her Angelic soul in Heaven ! — This mournful farewell! brought all my former happiness fresh to my remembrance.
