Monday 15th.. May 1809 We set out from London for Portsmouth late this evening; slept at Kingston, and pursued our journey early next morning accompanied by Major Macquarie 42d.. Regt.. who attended us to Portsmouth [.] [W]e slept the second night at Lipook, and arrived at Portsmouth at 12 o'clock on Wednesday the 17th.. of May; putting up at the George Inn. ---
