PARRY, Edward (d.1827)
Lachlan Macquarie visited Parry immediately after his return to London in 1807 with messages and commissions from Samuel Manesty in Basra. At that time Parry was Chairman of the East India Company Directors.
Periods of Service as an HEIC Director: 5 April 1797-1798, 1800-1803, 1805, 1806-1807 [Deputy Chairman], 1807-1808 [Chairman], 1808-1809 [Chairman], 1810-1813, 1815, 1818, 1820-1823, 1825-1827. Number of seasons elected as Chairman: twice (2); as Deputy Chairman: once (1) - note that the year of election to the Court of Directors (and the year of office) was from April to the following April.
Died: July 1827.
