Flexible Learning at Macquarie (FLaMe)

 

Description:

FLaMe introduces the basic principles of blended learning. Participants will be supported in the redesign of their current unit to enable blended delivery of their own coursework.

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the significance of blended learning as an instructional delivery mode and identify the basic principles in creating a high-quality blended learning experience.
  • Use iLearn to develop an existing unit into a blended format or create a new blended unit.
  • Reflect on the importance and value of community and collaboration in the blended course.
  • Identify strategies and techniques to develop student-student and instructor-student interaction and engagement in the blended environment.
  • Reflect on the importance and value of community and collaboration in the blended course.

This program will be delivered to academics in a blended mode (partly face-to-face and partly online – 16 hours in total) through iLearn. One hour of pre-program preparation (online) is required. You will receive details of this one week before commencement of the program.
