Dr Laura Ryan has been recognised as a recipient in the 2026 Young Tall Poppy Science Awards for NSW, an honour celebrating emerging researchers who combine scientific excellence with a strong commitment to community engagement and science communication.

Through Laura’s research in applied sensory biology, animal behaviour and shark attack mitigation work, it’s making the ocean safer for both humans and wildlife.
