Macquarie University's Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) with the combined efforts of the Australian Harmony Centre for Ecosystem Futures held the inaugural Caring for Country Day on 5 March 2026.

The event raised awareness of the significance of Ngurra or Country’s wellbeing and also emphasised the need to care for the land both physically and spiritually.

Through over 40 exhibition stalls; Dharug custodians, local councils, government, corporates, communities, Macquarie staff and students showcased their work.
