Sustainability in action

Partner with us to turn bold ideas into practical solutions that drive real, lasting change towards a sustainable future.

Through pioneering research, cross-disciplinary collaboration and strong partnerships, we address the most pressing challenges of our time and shape opportunities for generations to come.

We aspire to be a transformative force that enables environmental, social and economic systems to thrive in harmony, creating a world that is resilient, inclusive and prosperous.

Macquarie Park Sustainability Community of Practice

Engage with a cross-sector network of sustainability leaders from industry, government and universities across the Macquarie Park Innovation District and beyond, working together on real sustainability challenges and opportunities.

The Community of Practice meets regularly to support knowledge exchange, relationship-building and the co-design of practical initiatives with measurable impact.

The United Nations Academic (UNAI) SDG 15 Hub

The UNAI Hubs are a global network of higher-education institutions working to advance the Sustainable Development Goals through research, education and partnerships.

Led by Macquarie University, the UNAI SDG 15 Hub on Life on Land convenes and coordinates global action to strengthen biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and evidence-informed land stewardship in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Learn more about the Hub.

Partner with us to connect with the United Nations network and a global community of:

  • universities
  • researchers
  • industry
  • government
  • and community partners.

Opportunities include contributing expertise, co-developing research and education initiatives, participating in international events and knowledge-exchange activities, and collaborating on projects that advance SDG 15 and the broader UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability impact competition

It provides students with a unique opportunity to apply their technical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world sustainability challenges.

Working in teams, students develop practical and innovative solutions to projects proposed by industry, government and community partners. We welcome organisations and professionals who would like to get involved.

You can partner with us by:

  • proposing a real-world sustainability challenge for students to address
  • contributing your expertise as a mentor
  • joining the judging panel
  • sponsoring a prize.

By participating, partners can engage directly with emerging talent, contribute to student learning, and help develop new ideas and solutions to sustainability challenges relevant to their organisation, sector and the wider community.
