Photonics research for a brighter world
The MQ Photonics research group is focused on delivering excellent strategic, basic and applied research using light.
Light is a fundamentally powerful tool which can be used to overcome technical barriers. Building on our research excellence in lasers and photonics, our group aims to address key challenges in:
- advanced manufacturing
- advanced sensors
- astronomy and astrophysics
- defence and security
- medical technologies
- photovoltaics.
