An automotive engineer's paradise

We are an automotive society with a focus on engineering. This society is tailored towards students with an interest in anything mechanical, whether it be electric, combustion, hydrogen motors or general car mechanics and operations.

We offer you the ability to showcase your own projects through social media, creating a network between all members locally and abroad. Most of our members are currently studying engineering and will be available on campus to offer students advice and promote the use of computer software to design and modify their own projects.

Go kart

We have just finished our first project: a 30hp go-kart that will be raced in the NSW karting championship.

Ultimately, our goal is to develop a  student project where we engineer a Formula Ford style race car. As part of this project, we will attempt to design and manufacture the majority of the parts for the race car at Macquarie.

MQ Automotive will endeavour to provide enjoyable yet informative events for our members throughout the year, ranging from attendance at major car meets, to motorsport events such as WTAC, WRC, Bathurst 12hr, formula 1, track days, ride days and karting days.

Additionally, MQAutomotive will strive to promote student learning through seminar events. The seminars will involve workshop tours and talks given by leading automotive and engineering businesses around Sydney such as Powertune, Plazmaman, heasman steering, MCA suspension and more. Furthermore this may provide students with potential internship opportunities for 4th year.
