Please welcome to Dr Chandran Pfitzner

Dr Chandran Pfitzner will be joining the Maselko lab group as a postdoctoral fellow.  Chandran’s research thus far has focused on genetic biocontrol of invasive vertebrates. During his PhD he designed and generated various mouse models in order to experimentally test CRISPR-based gene drives in mice. He also performed some work in the CRISPR tool development arena where he generated and modified plasmids to expand the CRISPR genome editing toolkit.

His primary project is developing genetic biocontrol systems in zebrafish supported by a Centre for Invasive Species Solutions grant and in collaboration with CSIRO and the MQ Med school. Chandran recently completed his PhD in Paul Thomas's lab at the University of Adelaide.
