Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite has been appointed Chair of ISQua’s International Academy of Quality and Safety (IAQS) in a move that signals an exciting new chapter for the Academy.

The appointment was formally acknowledged during ISQua’s 41st International Conference in São Paulo, Brazil during October 2025.

Professor Braithwaite, a globally recognised leader in healthcare quality and safety, shared his vision for the role: “It is an honour to serve ISQua as Chair of the International Academy of Quality and Safety and to continue the work of my esteemed predecessor, Professor David Bates. I look forward to collaborating with our international network of experts to advance the Academy’s objectives and support ISQua’s mission.”

The IAQS brings together leading experts from around the world to shape the future of healthcare quality and safety.

Under Professor Braithwaite’s leadership, the Academy will continue to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and support ISQua’s vision: to be the global leader in transforming healthcare quality and safety for all.

ISQua also congratulates the newly appointed Executive Committee members who will guide the Academy’s development and strengthen its impact worldwide.
