The Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) proudly hosted members of its Aged Care Consumer Panel and Ms Janelle Bowden, Managing Director of AccessCR Pty Ltd, for a special recognition event celebrating the Panel’s recent achievement.

Ms Bowden presented the AIHI Research Team and Consumer Panel with the People’s Choice Award from the Australian Consumer Partnerships in Research Awards, held by AccessCR. The award recognises the Panel’s Outstanding Impact as a Consumer Advisory Group on health and medical research – underscoring the vital role of consumer voices in shaping safer, more effective aged care.

Formed in September 2023, the eight-member panel has worked closely with AIHI researchers on projects funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). Their contributions have directly influenced innovations such as BESTMED Connect, an app now helping families and aged care providers manage medicines more safely.

AIHI acknowledges its industry partner BESTMED and thanks Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) and Bupa Aged Care for their support in piloting, testing, and data collection.
