The Australian Institute of Health Innovation celebrates a decade of transformative impact at Macquarie University with industry leaders.

The Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI) recently marked a significant milestone – 10 years of pioneering research and innovation at Macquarie University. The celebratory event, held at Macquarie University City Campus on 27 May 2025, highlighted AIHI’s profound contributions to shaping healthcare and aged care systems across Australia and beyond.
Under the theme AIHI Reinventing Healthcare – 10 Years of Big Ideas, the gathering showcased AIHI’s commitment to research-driven innovation and lasting healthcare reforms.
Distinguished guests included:
- Professor S Bruce Dowton, Vice-Chancellor and President of Macquarie University
- Professor Kathryn North AC, Lead of Australian Genomics
- Professor Patrick McNeil, Macquarie University Executive Dean (Medicine and Science).

- Prestigious collaborations: International partnerships accounting for 36.4% of AIHI’s publications.
- Thought leadership: Producing 3161 books, chapters and research articles.
- Innovative projects: Leading 338 major funded projects that shape the future of healthcare.
- Exceptional teams: Supporting over 700 staff, students and associates, with gender parity achieved at the senior level.
