Strengthening partnerships with Sofia University
On Thursday 20 November 2025, the School of International Studies hosted a delegation from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria).
Led by Professor Sonya Mileva-Bozhanova, Vice-Rector of Career Development, Alumni, Business, and Employers' Networks, the delegation included senior administrators managing International Relations and Erasmus+ programs.
The visit featured a meeting where members of the School of International Studies showcased the School's teaching, research, and global engagement initiatives.
The agenda also focused on opportunities for staff and student mobility, including through the Erasmus+ program, and explored research collaborations and Cotutelle agreements, while the delegation shared insights into their own programs, fostering active discussions about mutual interests.
The day concluded with a campus tour of key locations, including the Arts Precinct, and a networking lunch to facilitate further discussions between the delegation and Faculty of Arts staff.
This visit followed an earlier collaboration between the two institutions, during which Associate Professor Iskren Ivanov participated in teaching and research activities at the School of International Studies, and Dr Dalbir Ahlawat engaged in similar exchanges during his visit to Sofia University. These experiences have solidified a strong foundation for ongoing engagement.
The School of International Studies looks forward to building on this successful visit to further strengthen the partnership with Sofia University and deepen academic and research collaborations.
We extend our gratitude to all staff for their support and contributions in ensuring the success of this visit.
