Lavina Lee joins Indo-Pacific security talks
Associate Professor Lavina Lee joined a US-led dialogue on Indo-Pacific security, exploring allied views on Taiwan and potential nuclear escalation.

Associate Professor Lavina Lee participated in a three-day strategic dialogue and table-top exercise at the invitation of the National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska in Honolulu from 3-5 June. NSRI is a University Affiliated Research Center sponsored by US Strategic Command, the US agency responsible for strategic nuclear deterrence.
The dialogue was aimed at understanding how America's Pacific allies think about the defense of Taiwan and how their thinking may change should China introduce nuclear weapons into a conflict. Associate Professor Lee was one of four Australian scholars invited to the dialogue along with eight others from South Korea and Japan.
