Financial Integrity Hub wins at regulatory awards
The Financial Integrity Hub (FIH) has been named Innovation Centre of the Year at the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2025.
The award, presented this week in Singapore, recognises excellence in fostering collaboration, experimentation and transformative impact in financial services.
The FIH has pioneered innovative research and practical solutions to combat financial crime, working closely with regulators, industry partners and government agencies to address risks such as money laundering, terrorism financing, proliferation financing and emerging threats in digital finance.
It was chosen from a highly competitive shortlist of centres who exemplify leadership in digital transformation, regulatory compliance, financial inclusion and risk management, and drive progress, address challenges and promote sustainable growth in the financial ecosystem.
Associate Professor Doron Goldbarsht, founder and Director of the FIH, says the award is an acknowledgement of the hub’s efforts in driving change to disrupt the threats of illicit finance.
“This recognition reflects the commitment of our team to producing research that not only advances academic understanding but also has real-world impact in safeguarding the financial system,” says Associate Professor Goldbarsht.
Established in 2022, the FIH drives transformative change through interdisciplinary and future-focused research to provide cutting-edge solutions to the global challenge of financial crime, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.
Since its inception, the FIH has published many research papers and produced four edited collections, hosted high-impact conferences and symposia, collaborated with global regulators and financial institutions and mentored the next generation of financial crime specialists.
The Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence recognises the organisations, individuals and initiatives shaping and adapting to the Asia-Pacific’s’ financial regulatory landscape. The program celebrates financial institutions, technology providers, regulators, policymakers, and advisory firms that are driving progress in compliance, managing risks, fostering resilience, and safeguarding market integrity.
