Our programs are facilitated by a team of experienced and dynamic educators who possess specialised expertise in a diverse range of disciplines, involved in archaeological fieldwork projects and most importantly, have a passion for education and ancient history communication.
Jacinta Carruthers has a background in archaeology, specifically osteoarchaeology, museums and heritage studies. Jacinta is passionate about education and outreach and has over six years of experience working in both research and tertiary education. She is a member of the Macquarie University and Institut Français d’Archéologie Orientale archaeological field team working at the Dendara Necropolis in Egypt
Alex Kujanpaa is a current Macquarie University PhD candidate who studies the Late Roman Empire. Alex has a passion for all things ancient history and through her work in past museum education programs at Macquarie University she enjoys instilling this in future generations.
Gillian Smith is an Egyptology PhD candidate at Macquarie University researching the art and architecture of Karnak Temple. She has a keen interest in the public engagement and education of ancient history and works with Macquarie's Widening Participation unit, engaging students in rural and remote areas in tertiary education.
