Golf for a cause
The Danny Bergan Memorial Foundation held its 12th annual Golf Day this year, raising over $100,000.
Held on 25 January at the Carnarvon Golf Club in Lidcombe, this annual event is one of the highlights of the year for the Foundation, a charity run by volunteers which was started by Daniel Bergan in honour of his father Danny Bergan, who was lost to MND when he was only 53 years old.
Money is raised through attendance at the golf day, donations through the online store and donations to their raffle and auction. This year over $100,000 was raised with all proceeds going to the MonSTaR Foundation (a generous donor to MND Research at Macquarie) in the quest to find a cure for MND and assist children with disabilities intergrate into life at day care and school.
This year raffle and auction prizes included: 4 tickets to exclusive members seating for the 2019 State of Origin at ANZ Stadium, a package for 6 people for the Chairman's Club at Flemington, 2 tickets to the EMINEM Rapture concert and a three night Wine Country Adventure in the Hunter Valley for 4 guests.
