Qualifications: PhD ( University of Hawaii); M.Sc. ( Pennsylvania State University); B.Sc. ( University of Sydney)

A/Prof Langdale currently teaches in the International Security Studies (ISS) program in PICT. He has taught at Macquarie University in Economic Geography. In addition, he has taught in the Communications and Business programs at the University.

His research has focused on the interlinkages between globalisation and economics, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. His current interest is in the area of global economic security, with particular interests in the Asia-Pacific region and energy security.

He has undertaken consultancies for Australian government departments, local councils, telecommunications carriers and private firms. He was chair of Telstra's Social and Policy Research in Telecommunications and has been the recipient of a number of Australian Research Council grants.

His current teaching interests link up with his long-term research interests on globalisation. He has taught units in the ISS program on economic and resource security and global crime.

Energy security, Food and water security, Transnational crime, Financial crime.
