Covidence Training Series 1 (Screening Studies)
Wednesday, 7 October | 12pm to 1pm
Covidence is a piece of Software to assist in conducting systematic reviews.
In this session we will cover:
- Using Covidence’s AI tools for maximum efficiency
- Tagging and filtering studies
- Marking duplicates manually
- Uploading PDFs (this does not include a demo of the bulk PDF upload tool)
- Managing exclusion reasons
You will also get tips and tricks to jumpstart their progress, as well as the opportunity to get their specific questions answered.
Covidence Training Series 2 (Extraction 1)
Friday, 16 October| 10.30am to 11.30am
This session is a deep dive into Covidence's newly revamped Extraction 1 tool. It is aimed at researchers who are familiar with the platform and are working on intervention reviews, i.e. reviews that study the effect of drugs, therapies, vaccines, medical devices, procedures, or public health policies.
We will walk you through the steps of:
- Creating, modifying, and publishing data extraction templates in Extraction 1
- Managing reviewers
- Extracting data from studies
- Producing consensus data so that the final data are ready for export
- Exporting data from Covidence
Covidence Training Series 3 (Extraction 2)
Monday, 26 October| 10.30am to 11.30am
This session is a deep dive into Covidence’s Extraction 2 tool. It’s aimed at researchers who are familiar with the platform and who are working on non-intervention reviews, e.g. qualitative reviews and reviews of observational studies.
We will walk you through the steps of:
- Creating, modifying, and publishing data extraction and/or quality assessment templates
- Managing reviewers
- Extracting data from studies
- Producing consensus data so that the final data are ready for export
- Export options
Choosing a journal (Strategic Publishing part 2)
Thursday, 15 October | 11am to 12pm
Two Faculty Librarians will build on elements covered in part one of this strategic publishing presentation, but standalone enrolments are welcome.
It will expand on publishing models and CAUL deals, the best tools to use for finding journals suited to your work, further discussion of the application of metrics as well as the very real threat of predatory publishing.
