Alternative metrics can be used to compensate for some of the limitations of traditional research metrics, as well as to present a more well-rounded picture of research impact. Altmetric Explorer is a web-based platform that allows anyone at Macquarie University to track, search, and measure the online conversations about their research and that of the University.
Join us for this session designed as an introduction to Altmetric Explorer, or a refresher for existing users. We will walk through core functionality, including searching, filtering, and interpreting attention data. We will also explain the latest features recently added to the platform such as Clinical Guidelines, Sentiment Analysis and the Researcher Search function.
We’ll cover:

  • A quick recap of the basics of Altmetric Explorer
  • Macquarie University examples and tips for applying Altmetric Explorer attention data
  • An overview of new features and updates, including how they can support your research analysis and reporting
  • Your questions about Altmetric ExplorerRegister here

Research metrics can be used to support
