Waranara Library continues to support Open Scholarship through its participation in Publish and Read agreements which now cover 19 major academic publishers These agreements allow MQ authors to publish Open Access without paying article processing charges (APCs), subject to eligibility requirements.

Improved agreements for 2026

Updated agreements with improved conditions now provide expanded APC-free publishing opportunities:

The Springer and Taylor & Francis agreements now include uncapped APC-free publishing in both hybrid and Full Open Access journals.

The Wiley agreement includes uncapped APC-free publishing in hybrid journals. APC-free publishing in Full Open Access journals is still subject to a cap.

The Elsevier agreement includes uncapped publishing in hybrid journals only.

New agreement for 2026

Waranara Library has secured an agreement with De Gruyter for uncapped APC-free publishing in selected De Gruyter journals. De Gruyter is also extending its Subscribe to Open (S2O) program enabling APC-free publishing in additional journals. The list of journals that will be included in De Gruyter’s S2O program is expected to be confirmed by end March 2026.
