New Read and Publish Agreement with Wiley
Providing continued access to Wiley’s extensive scholarly content as well as expanded opportunities for open access publishing.
Waranara Library has secured a new three-year Read and Publish agreement with Wiley, commencing 1 January 2026. This agreement provides the Macquarie University community with continued access to Wiley’s extensive scholarly content, alongside significantly expanded opportunities for open access publishing.
Through Macquarie’s participation in the Council of Australasian University Librarians (CAUL) consortium, Macquarie University researchers will be able to publish open access in Wiley journals under this agreement. This includes unlimited open access publishing in Wiley hybrid journals, as well as increased opportunities to publish in more than 600 fully open access Wiley journals—helping to maximise the visibility, reach and impact of Macquarie research.
All Macquarie University staff and students will continue to have access to Wiley’s catalogue of high-quality scholarly content. Wiley journals and books, along with millions of other academic resources, are available via the Library’s MultiSearch discovery platform.
For researchers planning to publish with Wiley, or through any of Waranara Library’s other Read and Publish agreements, the Open Access Guide provides clear guidance and support on eligibility, workflows and funding.
This agreement is the result of CAUL’s strategic efforts to expand open access across Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand and secure improved commercial terms for the sector. Read the joint CAUL-Wiley press release for more information.
