Australian South Asia Forum Inc. (ASAF) is holding the inaugural South Asian Film, Arts & Literature (SAFAL) Festival on 20-21 May at Macquarie University.

SAFAL Festival will celebrate and showcase the rich, diverse arts and cultural heritage of the South Asian region to the Australian public. It also aims to positively present the multicultural diversity and depth of talent in Australia to international audiences.

The  festival  program includes  Bollywood  and  Singhalese  film screenings, film  direction  and  acting masterclasses, a short film competition, book readings and panel  discussions. SAFAL will also feature a grand Awards Night, where international luminaries and distinguished guests from the local community will be recognised for their contribution to film, arts and literature.

The event is being supported by the City of Ryde and the Commonwealth Department of Communications and the Arts.
