Concession fares:

Students can receive discounted fares on trains, buses and ferries. To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or hold a Permanent Resident visa
  • be a full-time student, enrolled in internal classes (not external mode)
  • not receive any remuneration (scholarships and allowances such as Austudy and the Youth Allowance are not counted as remuneration).
Unfortunately in NSW, the only international students permitted to receive student concession fares are those sponsored by the Australian Government or students involved in formal university exchange programs.
