The Australian Snow Uni Games came to an end, and at the black tie awards dinner on Thursday night  Macquarie University was awarded the prestigious Spirit of the Mountain award. This award is based on performance, behaviour of the team and support shown for both the team and fellow competitors. It is the most highly prized award. This was quite an achievement as most of the competitors and overall winners were Olympians. On the contrary this award went right down to the wire. Each day the entire Macquarie University team would spend hours yelling and cheering on their team mates on the hill, often being the only spectators in attendance.

It is the first time Macquarie University has ever won the award which will be displayed in the Sports Hall of Fame. The teams Most Valued Player for the week was Sophia Marcolongo who received two bronze medals in the  Female Snowboarding Rails and Slopestyle events.

Good work team!
