Brazilian Jiu-jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport system that focuses on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was developed from Kodokan judo ground fighting (newaza) fundamentals and it eventually came to be its own defined combat sport through the innovations, practices, and adaptation of judo/jujutsu.

It emphasises ground fighting techniques that focuses on position, control and submissions such as chokes, arm locks and leg locks. BJJ utilises natural body leverage and proper technique to obtain dominant control on the ground and, as a result, provides greater position for striking or submission holds.
