Casual Learn to Swim Instructor

Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre within Campus Life are seeking casual Learn to Swim Instructors to join our friendly team at our North Ryde campus.

Macquarie University Swim Program is a Swim Australia registered swim school, we provide group swimming lessons to all ages and abilities in a warm and supportive environment. Our programs are professionally developed and aim to provide a high quality, caring learning experience to all our swimmers.

As a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor you will teach and motivate a variety of abilities in small group classes, you will be responsible for the development of swimmer’s progressions in alignment with the Macquarie University swim program.

Please note this position will require weekend work.

Essential Criteria

  • Current Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Technical knowledge of swimming and swimming instruction
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of the leisure/recreation industry

Casual Health & Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer

Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre within Campus Life are seeking casual Health & Fitness Instructors/Personal Trainers’ to deliver a range of fitness services to our members at our North Ryde campus.

Our centre is a multipurpose fitness venue featuring a fully equipped Health Club, an indoor and outdoor heated pool, Group Fitness classes, and a variety of social sport programs. Our programs are open seven days a week and incorporate participation from the broader community as well as university members.

As a Health and Fitness Instructor you will provide a visible presence on the gym floor building relationships with clients; assisting our members with technique correction, health consultations, exercise prescription, facilitate small group training sessions and provide general gym etiquette instruction.

As a Personal Trainer you will provide 1-1 and group Personal Training sessions to our members and local community. Based on qualifications and experience, you will be recognised as bronze, silver, gold or platinum PT and given the opportunity to build your business with the Centre.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience as a Fitness Instructor
  • Certificate IV in Fitness/Personal Training, and Fitness Australia Registration
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencement)
  • NSW Working with Children Check Certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Diploma or Degree in Fitness, Health Science or similar discipline is desirable

Please note this position requires weekend work, our centre operates from 5.30am - 10.00pm, availability for early morning and evening shifts will be required.
