Casual Member Engagement Officer

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre within Campus Life are seeking Casual Member Engagement Officers to join our friendly team at our North Ryde campus. As a Member Engagement Officer, you will work as a team to assist with the daily operation of our Member Engagement Desk.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in achieving first point resolutions when supporting our customers, from processing centre memberships, responding to customer queries, processing centre training / merchandise sales through to conducting centre tours. The role is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to a variety of our customers ranging from university students, staff, visitors and members of the broader community.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a front-line customer service position
  • Demonstrated cash handling experience
  • Intermediate computer literacy including familiarity of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • First Aid & CPR certificate (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Please note weekend work will be required

Gymnastics Coordinator

Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre within Campus Life are seeking an experienced Gymnastics Coordinator, full time, to lead the Gymnastics Department at our North Ryde campus. Macquarie University Gymnastics incorporates Kinder Gym, Recreational, Teen and Adult classes along with men’s and women’s competitive gymnastics. Our programs are open seven days a week and incorporate participation from the broader community as well as university members.

The Gymnastics Coordinator will be responsible for leading the Gymnastics Program, developing strong networks and identifying innovations to increase member acquisition, engagement and retention in the programs. The successful candidate will manage a team of 3 permanent employees and oversee a casual team of 20+ employees, providing leadership guidance, direction and advice to staff ranging from recruitment, training and employee development plans.

Essential Criteria

  • Gymnastics Coaching Qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an associated industry (or in a similar role )
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, including staff development and mentoring
  • Demonstrated success in the implementation of member engagement strategies to maximise member retention, (or other relevant business development experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to individuals and groups
  • First Aid & CPR certificate (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (or wiliness to obtain)

Desirable

  • Gymnastic Australia advanced accreditation
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Experience in using “LINKS” operating systems

Gymnastics Squad Coach

Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre within Campus Life are seeking casual Squad Coaches to join our fun and supportive team at our North Ryde Campus. Macquarie University Gymnastics incorporates Kinder Gym, Recreational, Teen and Adult classes along with men’s and women’s competitive gymnastics. Our programs are open seven days a week and incorporate participation from the broader community as well as university members.

As a MAG (Men's Artistic Gymnastics) Squad Coach you will provide high quality organised classes with supportive instruction. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of MAG Gymnasts and the creation and implementation of progressive lesson plans. You will also have the opportunity to attend competitions and events with your competitive squad.

Essential Criteria

  • Intermediate MAG coaching qualification
  • Demonstrated understanding of MAG Australian Levels Program (ALP)
  • First Aid & CPR certificate (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check (or wiliness to obtain)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Judging qualification in men's or women’s artistic gymnastics (MAG or WAG)
  • Advanced module 1 qualification
  • Prior experience in a competitive program

The Sport Leader Program

In 2016 Macquarie University Sport introduced the Sport Leader Program to bring together motivated future leaders of the Sport and Fitness industry to enable them the opportunity to grow a peer support network.

The program is targeted towards recent graduates (or due to complete within 6 months) in the field of sport (inclusive of an undergraduate degree, TAFE certificate or relevant qualification); OR an elite athlete; OR you’ve high levels of experience; who wish to establish to learn and develop focus on gaining basic professional skills, hands on managerial opportunities, leadership development opportunities, as well as building on their business and industry awareness and exposure, gaining opportunities to manage projects, become proficient in financial resourcing and be enabled to take the next steps into the Sport and Fitness industry.
