Distance education service
The Library provides resource delivery services to students living outside the Sydney metropolitan area.
Distance users may directly request items held by the Library and select a home delivery option. For normal delivery, we pay the postage cost of sending the items to you. You pay for returning the items to us.

To request an interlibrary loan, login to MultiSearch, check the item is not held by the Library, then place your request using the link at the top of the MultiSearch page.
If you haven't received a response within two weeks, contact the Library. Please keep your postal address and contact details up to date.
About this service
The Library provides resource delivery services to students and staff living outside the Sydney metropolitan area, comprising:
- loans from its collection
- copies of articles and chapters in its collection
- Postgraduates and Academic staff are also able to request interlibrary loans for items not held at Macquarie University.
Sydney metropolitan students are not eligible for this service. Please contact us for further information.
Macquarie staff and students living overseas
Document supply is offered to staff and students who live overseas. We deliver copies of chapters and articles only. We do not send books or other ‘hard copy’ items overseas.
Open Universities Australia (OUA) students are only eligible if they are doing a postgraduate or undergraduate studies toward a Macquarie University degree.
Using this service
You will receive an email when a requested item is available.
Loans will be posted to your address or can be collected from the Collection point, level 2, Library.
Please notify the Academic programs section and the Library if you change address.
Renewing and returning loans
If you wish to renew an item belonging to this Library, login to MyLibrary. Interlibrary loans cannot be renewed online. Please contact us.
All loans should be returned to Macquarie University Library by the due date.

Under the provisions of the Copyright Act, 1968, as amended, we are limited to sending only one chapter or 10% of a book. Journals are less restricted, allowing us to send multiple articles on a similar subject from single journal issues.
