Friends of the Library
Macquarie University Library Friends Foundation
From 1986 to 2012 the Macquarie University Library Friends Foundation provided a professional and social focus for those interested in supporting the Library and its future. The Library Friends have provided generous donations and assistance towards the Library's special collections, which are of significant value to research and study.
This assistance is used to build up these special collections in areas beyond the natural range of normal Library funding and enabled the Library to extend its cultural resources for the benefit of both the University and the community. Major donations include:
- Joan McIlrath's collection of items relating to the Australian Aboriginal
- Marjorie Keesing's gifts, which were the first major donations to the Library
- Bequests from: Margaret Donaldson, Chitra Fernando, Charlotte Lutufmen, Barry Scott and Mabel Harriett Sutton
- Donations to the Eoin Wilkinson Memorial Appeal
The Library's major donors are acknowledged on the Donor Board on Level 2 of the Library.
